We have now finished our wonderful Gospel meeting with John Daniels from Sevierville, Tn. It was a wonderful meeting and week. It was so busy and I wans't at home much, so I haven't had time to do the daily cleaning and straightening that needed to be done. Since the gas prices are so high the children and I would go to the morning services and then spend the day at my grandmothers or Barry's mothers house until the evening services. This has been hard on my weight watchers plan since I wasn't in controll of what we had for lunch and dinner. I am glad I can be at home now during the day so I can control the meals better and maybe get myself back on track.
The meeting as I said was great and he had great lessons that I believe we could all use in our everyday life. We had great crowds even in the mornings. I think this was one of the best we have had at Adamsville in a while. He kept your attention and made you think, at least he did for me. I needed that and I believe alot of us probably did as well.
Here we jump into another phase of this busy Summer. We are now getting ready for our VBS on June 22-25 or 26th (not sure since we have 4 lessons so far instead of 5) We are working on writing our own lessons on the Parables of Jesus. They are the Parable of the Prodigal Son, the Parable of the Sower and the Soils, The Kingdom is liken unto..., and The parable of the Friend at Midnight. This is tough for me since I have the baby class (3 months-2 years). I have been trying to come up with ideas and I have some great helpers that are working on this as well. We would love for any ideas from you guys if you have any for us. We need ideas of how to write the lessons for that age group and also for handouts and visuals for them. If you have any ideas feel free to let us know or if you want to help(those who go there and will be there especially). I believe it is going to be another great week and VBS, but we have to get busy with it, since it will be here before we know it.
We also have a Sunshine girl project this Saturday to do something for the daddies of the congregation. We are looking forward to this and the girls love to do for others, as you all saw when they gave the Gospel meeting/ coming home day. They really loved giving it away. These girls are great and showing their love for others. Thanks to Carla for heading up this group.
